Google Pixel 4⃣ Leaked Hands-On Images Show Large Camera Module, Thick Top
Google has already given us a glimpse of the Pixel 4's design, drawing some flak for the large camera bump and the thick top bezel, which makes the phone look as if it was launched a couple of years ago. Now, high-quality hands-on images of the Pixel 4 have surfaced online, showing the phone's familiar squarish camera module up close. The leaked images also give a clear look at the Pixel 4's top bezel and the front camera, but the rest of the sensors including the Soli module can't be seen.
The leaked Pixel 4 images, which come courtesy of XDA-Developers Editor-in-Chief Mishaal Rahman, show the phone's black variant. It is, however, not certain whether the phone shown in the leaked images is the Pixel 4 or the Pixel 4 XL. The camera module clearly shows two lenses and a large LED flash. The main camera will reportedly be a 12-megapixel snapper and it will be assisted by a 16-megapixel telephoto lens that will bring optical zooming capabilities to the table. Rahman adds that the authenticity of the images cannot be verified.

Google👀 To Move Pixel Smartphone📱 Production To Vietnam
Alphabet's Google is shifting its Pixel smartphone production to Vietnam from China starting this year as it builds a cheap supply chain in Southeast Asia, reportedly.
The move comes as labour costs are rising in China along with added pressure from spiralling tariffs due to the ongoing Sino-US trade tensions.
The US Internet giant plans to move most of its American-bound hardware out of China, including the Pixel phones and its smart speaker Google Home, Nikkei said.
The company plans to ship about 8 million to 10 million smartphones this year, double from a year ago, making Vietnam a key part of Google's drive for growth in the smartphone market, the newspaper added.
Google will shift some production of the Pixel 3A phone to Vietnam before the end of this year, Nikkei reported citing sources.
For its smart speakers, some production is likely to be moved to Thailand but the company's new product development and initial production for its hardware lineup will still be in China, according to the report.

G👀gle Bans Ads🚫 For 'Unproven' Therapies, Including Stem Cells
Google said Friday it was banning online ads for unproven medical treatments including most stem cell and gene therapy. "This new policy will prohibit ads selling treatments that have no established biomedical or scientific basis," Google policy adviser Adrienne Biddings said in a blog post.
Biddings said Google will "prohibit advertising for unproven or experimental medical techniques such as most stem cell therapy, cellular (non-stem) therapy and gene therapy."
Google will also ban "treatments that are rooted in basic scientific findings and preliminary clinical experience, but currently have insufficient formal clinical testing to justify widespread clinical use," she added.
The online giant said it made the decision due to "a rise in bad actors attempting to take advantage of individuals by offering untested, deceptive treatments."
The company said this was not an effort to diminish the importance of medical discoveries but maintained that "monitored, regulated clinical trials are the most reliable way to test and prove important medical advances."

Google Slammed by 👊Trump Once Again for Manipulating 2016 Elections
US President Donald Trump has once again lashed out at Google for manipulating millions of votes in the 2016 presidential elections in favour of then Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
"Wow, Report Just Out! Google manipulated from 2.6 million to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016 Election! This was put out by a Clinton supporter, not a Trump Supporter! Google should be sued. My victory was even bigger than thought," Trump tweeted late Monday.
However, the report Trump mentioned in his tweet was published in 2017 that described there was a bias in Google and other search engines during the run-up to the 2016 elections.
Trump's tweet citing an old research paper also tagged conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch with his tweet, "perhaps asking them to investigate. It's also unclear who he thinks should sue the company", reports TechCrunch.
In a statement, Google said: "This researcher's inaccurate claim has been debunked since it was made in 2016. As we stated then, we have never re-ranked or altered search results to manipulate political sentiment."
Clinton also responded to Trump: "The debunked study you're referring to was based on 21 undecided voters. For context that's about half the number of people associated with your campaign who have been indicted."
The paper was published by Robert Epstein, a psychology researcher who works for the America an Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology and testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee in June.
The CNBC reported that "Trump's tweet appears to refer to documents leaked to conservative group Project Veritas, but the documents do not appear to contain any outright allegation of vote manipulation or attempts to bias the election".
G👀gle Hire Online Job Service To Shut Down In 2020
The company had built "Hire" with Diane Greene, a former Alphabet board member.
The aim was to simplify the hiring process, with a workflow that integrated things like searching for applicants and scheduling interviews into Google's G Suite offerings like Search, Gmail, Calendar, and Docs, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday.
"Hire" came into existence after Google acquired Bebop -- a company started by Greene -- for a reported $380 million in 2015.
Greene left Alphabet's board earlier this year.
"While 'Hire' has been successful, we're focusing our resources on other products in the Google Cloud portfolio. We are deeply grateful to our customers, as well as the champions and advocates who have joined and supported us along the way," Google said in a statement.

G👀gle Play Store Redesign Now Rolling Out To All On Android, Chrome OS
Google has announced that it is rolling out a complete redesign of the Google Play Store. The revamped Google Play Store uses Material design and includes several changes that make it cleaner and improve app discovery.
The new design was released to select users recently, but it is now available to all. To recall, Google Play Store is used by over two billion active users monthly to download and install apps and games. It also acts as a store-front for Movies, Music, and Books.
“Aligning with Material design language, we're introducing several user-facing updates to deliver a cleaner, more premium store that improves app discovery and accessibility for our diverse set of users,” Boris Valusek, Design Lead, Google Play, wrote in a blog post.
Gmail for Android📱 Updated with ‘Swipe-to-Switch’ Account Gesture☝*
With its Material Theme update last year, Gmail for iOS added a very convenient gesture for switching accounts. After appearing on other Android apps over the past month, swipe-to-switch is now available in Gmail for Android.
Version 2019.08.18 (via Android Police) of the Gmail Android client this evening lets users swipe on their Google Account avatar in the top-right corner of most screens. Swiping up or down works, with the profile icon featuring a fill-in animation while the rest of your default inbox loads.
Incredibly convenient, this UI element helps make the always-present avatar that identifies what account you're using even more useful. A similar, but horizontal swiping action was available in the old navigation drawer account switcher, but the Material Theme equivalent is much more prevalent.

G👀gle Go, A Lightweight Search App, Expands Worldwide For Android Users🌍
After a successful testing in India and other emerging markets, Google has made the lighter version of its Search engine -- Google Go -- available for Android users worldwide where patchy networks are common.
According to data from Sensor Tower, Google Go has been installed approximately 17.5 million times globally, with the largest percentage of users in India (48 percent).
Google Go helps people use less storage on their devices and keeps an unreliable connection from slowing them down.
"At just over 7MB, Google Go helps make sure your phone stays speedy when you are traversing the web. It also puts web versions of your favourite apps at your fingertips, giving the option of downloading fewer apps on your phone," Bibo Xu, Product Manager, Google Go, said in a statement late Tuesday.

Google Job Search Tool🔍 Faces EU Investigation
EU regulators are checking Google for Jobs to see if the company unfairly favours its fast-growing tool for searching job listings, Europe's antitrust chief said on Tuesday.
Launched two years ago, the tool has already drawn numerous complaints from rivals alleging anti-competitive behaviour.
Earlier this month, 23 job search websites in Europe urged the European Commission to temporarily order Google to stop such practices while it investigates the issue.
European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, who has handed out EUR 8.25 billion ($9.2 billion) in fines to the tech giant in recent years in three separate cases, voiced concerns about the possibility of similar anti-competitive practices by Alphabet unit Google in other areas.

Google, Dell Partneron Chromebook Devices to Rival Microsoft in Enterprise Space
To challenge Windows-powered laptops, Google has teamed up with Microsoft's biggest partner, Dell, to launch new Chromebook Enterprise devices.
Google and Dell have been working together for more than a year to ensure these new Chromebook Enterprise devices are ready for IT needs, The Verge reported on Monday.
They both are working together to make new versions of the Latitude 5400, starting at $699 and Dell Latitude 5300 two-in-one, starting at $819, with an enterprise version of Chrome OS built-in.
In addition, the search engine giant is now teaming up with a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to better target enterprise customers. While Dell is the first OEM to announce Chromebook Enterprise laptops, there will be more, John Solomon, Vice President of Chrome OS at Google said.
Meanwhile, to compete with Chrome OS, Microsoft is currently working on a Windows Lite version of its operating system which would be more cloud-powered.
Speaking to The Verge, Solomon, explained the deal. “This is not an exclusive with Dell. We're launching with Dell first… but in the future we will be getting back to doing this more broadly with the ecosystem.”
