Apple Watch Series 5 ⌚ Has an Always-On Display and Comes in Titanium or Ceramic Finish; iPadOS comes out September 30th

Apple has just officially announced the next generation of the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 5. The latest model is very similar to last year’s Series 4, with a similar design and size. It is finally adding an always-on display option so you can see the time without having to move your wrist. Apple says the Series 5 watch maintains the prior model’s 18-hour battery life, even with the new always-on display. Watchfaces and workouts have been redesigned to take advantage of the new display option.

In addition to the new always-on display feature, the Apple Watch Series 5 is now available in a recycled aluminum or titanium finishes. The stainless steel and ceramic options from prior models are also available. Apple says this is the widest number of finishes ever for the Apple Watch.

Apple is also permanently dropping the price of the Series 3 to $199, matching the lowest sale price on that model we’ve seen.

Apple also announced today it will release iPadOS on September 30th, with support for the last several years of iPad models.

While it’s mostly just a name change, this is technically the first ever release of iPadOS. In June, Apple announced that it would be splitting apart iOS — which until now has been the operating system for both the iPhone and the iPad — so that there’s a separate version of the OS for phones and tablets.

Iphone 11 To Be Bundled With Fast Charging🔋 Usb Type-C Charger: Report

Apple is said to eventually drop the dated 5W charger and bundle its awaited USB Type-C charger with the iPhone 11. The new development comes just days after the Cupertino giant was spotted planning the iPhone 11 launch for September 10. The 2019 iPhone family is expected to include the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Last year, Apple was rumoured to unveil the iPhone XS and iPhone XR with a USB-C charger. The company, however, retained the traditional USB charger that has a USB Type-A port instead of the advanced USB Type-C port.

Charging peripherals-focussed website ChargerLab in a tweet claimed that the iPhone 11 would debut with an Apple USB Type-C charger. The source also speculated that the new model would be bundled with USB Type-C to Lightning cable.

Apple Reportedly Launching New iPhone Pro 📱 and iPads with Better Cameras, 16-inch MacBook Pro and new AirPods, Says Bloomberg

Apple  is getting ready for its usual fall iPhone launch event, which is rumored to be happening September 10, though the event hasn’t been officially confirmed this year. A new report from Bloomberg offers a preview of the lineup of hardware products Apple is looking to debut this year.

There are new iPhones, of course, including a new iPhone Pro model that replaces the XS line and adds a third, wider angle rear camera (which has been rumored previously), and a refreshed iPhone XR at the entry level that will also get a second, optical zoom camera.

These new iPhone Pros would pack a lot of other updates besides, though they’ll look visually similar beyond the changed camera module. They’ll offer wireless charging for AirPods with the Qi-enabled wireless charging case, for instance, for a quick top-up when you’re the road, and they’ll also get new matte finishes on some models versus the glossy look common to all iPhone models today. Updated Face ID will offer unlocking at more angles, and they’ll pack “dramatically” better water resistance, as well as improved shatter resistance to shrive drops.

Also new this year, though not necessarily debuting at the same event, will be a new MacBook Pro with a display size somewhere over 16 inches, which Bloomberg reports will still manage to be similar overall in physical footprint to the current 15-inch MacBook Pros, thanks to a new bezel.

There are also plans to roll out new AirPods, with a higher price tag but also added water-resistance and noise-canceling features that the current AirPods lack.

On the iPad side, Apple  will refresh its iPad Pro this year, with updated versions of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models that will get spec bumps, plus better cameras, but otherwise remain the same in terms of form factor.

Apple Watch will also be updated.

Apple Tv+📺 Said To Support Limited Offline Viewing, Restricted Multi-Device Streaming

Apple TV+, the ad-free service that is aimed to offer original shows, movies, and documentaries to Apple customers, may provide limited offline viewing. Some code strings spotted in macOS Catalina have suggested that the Cupertino giant might not allow Apple TV+ users to download the available videos multiple times. This sounds similar to how Netflix restricts multiple downloads on its platform. The upcoming macOS version has also suggested that the Apple TV+ service could restrict multi-device streaming.

MacRumors reports that the code strings found in macOS Catalina suggested that Apple TV+ would imply limitations on the total number of downloads, downloads per show or movie, or the total number of times a show or movie can be downloaded.

Apple didn't define offline viewing part while announcing the paid service at an event back in March, though it confirmed that it would allow users to download content offline.

Apple Plans To Tap China's Boe For Advanced Iphone📱 Screens: Report

Apple is in the final stages of certifying advanced screens from Chinese display maker BOE Technology Group for its iPhone lineup, as it attempts to reduce reliance on Samsung Electronics, the Nikkei reported on Wednesday.

Apple will decide by the end of this year whether to take BOE on as a supplier of organic light-emitting displays (OLED), the Japanese business daily reported, citing sources.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The iPhone maker is "aggressively testing" BOE's flexible OLED, raising the possibility that Apple could for the first time source this advanced display technology from China, according to the report.

Earlier this week, Apple launched a smartphone-generation credit card in the US and moved closer to hitting the hot streaming television market with a new subscription service.

The moves come as Apple shifts to emphasize digital content and other services to offset a pullback in the once-sizzling smartphone market.

Reported to be similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 that was launched in 2017, the new iteration would arrive next year.

It is likely to feature an LCD display and "most of the same components" as this year's flagship iPhones.
